Buxa Farm Chalets are three new Norwegian style semi-detached chalets situated on the A964 between Houton and Stromness in Orphir. The wood chalets with stone entrance porches are located on the waterfront of Scapa Flow on 20 acres of unspoilt land with stunning panoramic views of the hills of Hoy, Lighthouse on Graemsay and Stromness. The land will be developed in accordance to Rural Stewardship guidelines to encourage plant and wildlife around the ponds and remaining property. Access to the shore is a short walk through the property.
Open all year round, the chalets have recently been assessed by VisitScotland as prestigious four star standard, and offer accommodation for four people in each unit. Each unit is single storey and will include ample parking, entrance porch, living area with spectacular views to Scapa Flow, well equipped kitchen open to dining area, 2 bedrooms (zip and link beds offer an option of double or twin bedding) and bathroom with shower over bath. Cots and additional beds can be set up. There is a double bed settee in the lounge and cots and additional beds can be set up. A colour television with DVD player, radio and CD player, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer come as standard. Ramps, wide doors and lowered light switches make these units accessible for those with disabilities.
